Robert R. Smith, DVM
Robert R. Smith, DVM - Our Managing Director has a B.S. in Animal Science and a D.V.M. from Ohio State University. He also has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and brings over thirty years experience in medicine and surgery to the practice. He is a retired military veterinarian who is board certified by the American College of Preventive Veterinary Medicine.

Jessica Rockwell, DVM
Jessica Rockwell, DVM - Born and raised in Beaufort, Dr. Rockwell attended the College of Charleston for undergraduate studies and earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Psychology. She then went to the University of Georgia and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Veterinary School in 2004. Penn Hip certified, Dr. Rockwell has a strong interest in canine reproduction and ultrasound.

Laurel Berry, DVM
Laurel Berry, DVM - A 1986 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During college she worked for Jack Hannah in the Education Dept. of the Columbus Zoo. Dr. Berry also volunteered in the Veterinary Dept. at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson. She practiced in Arizona and North Carolina before relocating here in 1991. Her special interest is in veterinary surgery.

Bill Sammons, DVM
Bill Sammons, DVM - Born and raised in Beaufort, Dr. Sammons earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree before joining the Navy and serving as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam war. He worked as an aerospace engineer for four years before deciding that veterinary medicine was his calling. A 1977 graduate of Auburn Veterinary School he owned three veterinary clinics in Florida & worked there for 23 years before moving back to Beaufort in 2000.

Frances Murray, DVM
Frances Murray, DVM - Joined Sea Island Animal Hospital in July 2008. Graduated Cum Laude From N.C. State University with a B.S. degree in Zoology. Received Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with High Honors from Tuskegee Institute in 1982. After over 11 years in Veterinary Emergency Medicine, she entered private practice in 1995.
