Katy Gilray

Born and raised in Rockwall, Texas and attended college at Texas A&M University- Commerce where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Animal Science and Agriculture. She has worked in the veterinary profession since 2002 and has been involved with agricultural research. Katy moved to Beaufort in 2012 with her family and rejoined Sea Island Animal Hospital in August 2013. She raises Longhorns in Texas, enjoys fishing and spending time at the beach.

Shannon Willis - Lead Technician

Born and raised in Beaufort, SC and has worked in the veterinary profession for over 15 years. She has been with Sea Island Animal Hospital since 2008. Shannon is our surgery coordinator and is currently going to school to be a Certified Veterinary Technician. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s activities.

Sherie Willard

Sherie Willard (Technician) - Born and raised in Beaufort, SC. Sherie is a certified Veterinary Assistant and also has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She has been in the veterinary profession for over 25 years and with Sea Island Animal Hospital for 21 years. She holds the title of our “cat whisperer” here at the hospital because our feline friends love her so much. Sherie’s interests include photography and gardening.

Trish

Trish Owens

Trish Owens (Technician) - Trish is from Kings Mountain, NC but was raised in Beaufort most of her life. She has been with Sea Island Animal Hospital for 14 years and is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Trish is a trained dental and surgical assistant and loves educating our clients. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dog and 3 cats.

Donna

Donna Sammond

Born and raised in Brunswick, GA and received her Associates degree in Medical Technology from Brunswick Junior College. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University and is a Certified Medical Laboratory Technician. She also is a Hill’s Nutritional Consultant as well as a member of Friends of Hunting Island. Donna has been with Sea Island Animal Hospital since 2006. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, volunteering at the Animal Shelter and Hunting Island beach.

Autumn Perry

Autumn has just recently joined our team all the way from Pennsylvania.

She is a Certified Veterinary technician and has a degree in Veterinary Technology. Autumn has been volunteering and working at animal hospitals for over 10 years and has a special interest in dentistry. Autumn enjoys horse back riding, photography, reading and spending time with her family and two cats, Balthazaar and Scarlet.

Ashlyn Ellis

Born and raised in Beaufort, SC. Ashlyn knew as a small child that she wanted to work with animals. She joined Sea Island Animal Hospital in February 2013 and has already begun to cross train to become a Veterinary Assistant. Ashlyn is currently going to school to get her Veterinary Assisting Certificate and enjoys time with her family and friends.

Jennieywey

Jenniey Wey

Jenniey joined the Sea Island family in November 2015. She has a strong passion for animals and people and has been a true asset to our team. Jenniey is a Certified Dog Trainer and has an Associates degree in Psychology with a minor in Theatre. Jenniey has traveled the world growing up in a military family and has been involved in several acting venues. Her dream is to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and then pursue a career as a Veterinarian. When she is not working or going to school she enjoys acting, going to the gym and being with her animals, Autumn, Pumpkin, Chimera and Creature.

Cherae Cooper - Lead Receptionist

Cherae joined our team in August of 2014 as a client care specialist. She was born in Raleigh NC, but was raised here in Beaufort SC. She graduated from Battery Creek High School in 2008 and has worked in the veterinary profession for 10 years. Cherae worked with an animal rescue in Bluffton and is an artist. In her spare time, Cherae enjoys painting pet portraits with acrylics, being with her family, and spoiling her two dogs named King and Simoa.

Mandy Welch

Mandy is from Dover, Delaware and has been with Sea Island Animal Hospital since April 2015. She has worked as a medical receptionist since 2005 and has always dreamed of working with animals. Mandy is passionate about working closely with clients to make sure our patients receive the best care. She also enjoys volunteering at Tabby House when she can. Mandy and her husband, Matt, moved to Beaufort in 2012 and love being on the coast. Mandy and Matt have a new son, Bentley and a teenage son, Brandon. When Mandy is not working she is spoiling her family and her 3 dogs, Moose, Emma (pictured) and Kenzie.

Patti Wright - Lead Kennel Technician

Patti is an Ohio native that has lived in Beaufort for almost 40 years. She has served in the US Navy as well as given 25 years of service to the Beaufort County Animal Shelter and Sheriffs Office. After retirement, Patti decided she wanted to continue her work with animals and joined Sea Island Animal Hospital in 2012. She has a love for serving people and helping animals. She also brings our hospital years of experience and knowledge.

Selena-almanza

Selena Almanza-Shoop

Selena moved to Beaufort in the summer of 2016 from the small town of Kennett Square, PA where she was born and raised. Selena joined the Sea Island Animal Hospital team as a kennel technician, but is cross trained to be a receptionist and a veterinary assistant. Selena knew ever since she was a young girl that she needed to be around animals. She previously worked at a kennel where she helped raise and care for service dogs going through training. Selena was also a part of a search and rescue team that would help find missing or lost pets. Selena loves to help and will often save the day by offering to go above and beyond what she needs to do. When Selena is not working she is loving on her own pets and spending time with her family.
